Google Ads for Shopify Stores
That Actually Convert
Most Shopify stores bleed money on Google Ads. Wrong campaign structure, bloated keyword lists, and agencies that copy-paste generic strategies. We're built differently — every campaign is engineered around Shopify's buying signals, your margins, and one goal: profitable revenue at scale.
Why most Shopify Google Ads fail
Google Ads for Shopify isn't like running ads for a service business. Product feed quality, margin-aware bidding, and Shopify-specific conversion tracking are make-or-break — and most agencies get them wrong.
Broken conversion tracking
Shopify's default GA4 setup double-counts conversions. Smart Bidding trains on bad data and spend spirals.
Poor product feed quality
Weak titles, missing GTINs, and unoptimised images crush your Shopping impression share before bidding even starts.
PMax with no asset control
Running Performance Max blind lets Google serve ads everywhere with zero brand control. High spend, low profit.
Ignoring margin by product
Bidding the same tROAS on a £9 and a £90 item burns budget. We bid based on your actual profit per SKU.
How we run Google Ads for Shopify stores
We've built a repeatable system across 50+ Shopify brands. Here's exactly what we do — no black boxes.
Tracking audit & rebuild
Server-side conversion tracking via Shopify webhooks. Zero double-counting. Purchase, add-to-cart, and checkout events all verified.
Product feed engineering
Optimised titles, descriptions, GTINs, and custom labels by margin tier — built inside Merchant Centre and Shopify's feed.
Campaign architecture
Segmented Shopping, Search, and PMax campaigns by category, margin, and intent. No single catch-all campaigns.
Audience layering
Customer match lists, cart abandoners, category viewers — all loaded as bid modifiers and exclusions from your Shopify data.
Margin-aware bidding
tROAS targets set per product group based on your actual margins — not industry averages pulled from a Google rep deck.
Weekly optimisation cadence
Search term sculpting, bid adjustments, asset testing. You get a live dashboard and a weekly Loom update — not a monthly PDF.
Recent kills
Numbers from active Shopify clients — not cherry-picked outliers.

Common questions
Do you work with new Shopify stores or only established ones?
Both — but our approach differs. New stores need a Search-first strategy to gather intent data before we scale Shopping. Established stores with purchase history unlock Smart Bidding faster. We'll tell you honestly which stage you're at on the audit call.
What ad spend do you need to manage?
We typically work with stores spending £3,000–£150,000/month on Google Ads. Below £3K/month, Smart Bidding doesn't have enough conversion data to optimise properly — we'll tell you if you're not there yet.
Do you manage Performance Max campaigns?
Yes — but not the way most agencies do. We run PMax with brand exclusions, shopping-only asset groups where appropriate, and audience signals pulled from your Shopify customer data. We don't let Google decide everything.
How long before we see results?
Tracking and feed fixes show impact within 2–4 weeks. ROAS improvement typically becomes visible in 6–10 weeks as Smart Bidding trains on clean data. Sustainable scaling at 4X+ usually happens between months 3 and 5.
What makes you different from a general PPC agency?
We only work with Shopify stores. That means we know the Shopify-GA4 tracking pitfalls, how to structure Merchant Centre for Shopify's product feed format, and how to use Shopify's customer data inside Google Ads — things generalist agencies consistently get wrong.
