The stockist link-building play
Run Havoc is an authorised stockist of major running brands. Every brand they stock — Hoka, On Running, Brooks — maintains a global stockist finder page or local retailer directory. These pages carry significant domain authority but most stockists are listed without a backlink.
We audited every brand Run Havoc stocks, identified which ones offered dofollow backlinks via their stockist programme, and submitted or updated their listings directly with the correct URL, store description, and product category tags. We then expanded this to running-specific local directories, Australian sport and fitness blogs, and regional media that covered specialty running stores.
Result: 680+ competitor backlink gap identified via Ahrefs. Priority outreach to stockist-linked domains with DA 40–90. Backlinks secured from brand pages, running directories, and editorial sport coverage — all white-hat, all editorially placed.
Collection page optimisation
Turning thin grid pages into ranking assets
Run Havoc's Hoka, On Running, and Brooks collection pages were default Shopify output — product grids with no copy. We rewrote every major collection page with buyer-intent copy above the fold, comparison content mid-page, and FAQ schema below. Each page now targets head terms (e.g. "Hoka running shoes Australia") and long-tail variants (e.g. "best Hoka shoes for road running").

Content pipeline from Google Search Console data
We pulled every impression-rich, low-click query from GSC — terms Run Havoc was showing up for but not ranking top 5.
